Raceland has revised the Saturday, October 17th Game Times in light of dead space they were experiencing. The new game schedule for this upcoming Saturday is as follows:
10:00AM Russell Flag vs. Raceland Flag @ Raceland
11:00AM Russell 2nd vs. Raceland 2nd @ Raceland
12:30PM Russell 3rd vs. Raceland 3rd @ Raceland
2:00PM Russell 4th vs. Raceland 4th @ Raceland
3:30PM Russell 5th vs. Raceland 5th @ Raceland
5:00PM Russell 6th vs. Raceland 6th @ Raceland
Your Red Devils traveled in different directions this weekend: West Carter for 2nd, 4th and 6th Grades; Fairview for 3rd; and, Home for Russell 5th.
Please be advised that we have been informed of TIME CHANGES for two of our West Carter games this weekend.
4th GRADE – Game time has been moved-up 30 minutes to start at 12:30PM.
6th GRADE – Game time has been moved-up 45 minutes to start at 2:00PM.
Your Red Devils travelled to Boyd Co. this weekend to take on the Lions at the old Boyd Co. High School Field.
Your Red Devils were on the road this weekend taking on East Carter in Grayson.
Please be advised that we’ve been informed of TIME CHANGES for two of our East Carter games this weekend.
4th GRADE – Game time has been changed to start at 4:30PM
5th GRADE – Game time has been changed to start at 2:45PM
Nothing in 2020 appears to be guaranteed, but as of this moment the following schedule is “locked-in” unless/until situations arise that call for changes.
Governor Beshear’s press conference just ended and, as you’ve probably already seen posted across Facebook, he said that he would not go against last weeks decision by the KHSAA to allow fall sports to begin practicing. In short, Governor Beshear passed the decision on to the superintendent of each school to determine what was in the best interest of their players’ health and safety.
Governor Beshear did not shut down football, but he did place a heavy burden on our Superintendents by his maneuvering and comments today.
Russell JFL will play football this year. Coaches will be contacting players ASAP.
As always, there will be about a weeks delay before flag participants are contacted.
The Russell JFL Board will meet this SUNDAY at 2PM at the Russell JFL Field to fill the vacant 3rd Grade head coach position and to discuss the upcoming season.
If you would like to be considered for the 3rd grade head coach position YOU MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING.
🚧🚨 We will schedule all practices to begin next Tuesday to give us time to see what Governor Beshear does Monday at 4PM:
⁃ If Governor Beshear allows football, the league will spend approximately $2,000 to buy our seasonal insurance policy Tuesday morning and our practices will start as scheduled Tuesday evening.
⁃ If Governor Beshear pulls the plug on Football or delays Football again for ANY length of time, we will immediately cancel our season and give our participants the opportunity to go play in Ohio where youth football has already been given the green light by Governor DeWine and some leagues begin activities within the next week.
